The Corona/Norco Amateur Radio Club was founded in 1986, the call sign of one of the original members "W6PWT" was acquired by the club and is now the official call sign of the club repeater.
The objectives of the club are to:

Provide the community with emergency communications in the event of any catastrophe that may occur.

Assist and provide Red Cross and SATERN organizations with emergency communications as may be needed.

Recruit and train qualified communications operators and assist interested parties in acquiring their FCC Amateur Operators license.

Assist local Police and Fire Department Units in situations where advanced communications may be required.

Participate in periodic state, county and local Emergency Operations "RACES" drills.

Operate and maintain the Communications Center Station located in the Emergency Operations Center of the Norco 6th street Fire station.

Provide communication assistance for local community events when requested.
